Feature Highlight: Batch Picking

In the world of logistics and order fulfillment, there are multiple ways you can approach fulfilling your orders. Example methods include batch picking, wave picking, and zone picking. Each of these methods seek to help streamline your fulfillment in different ways and each carry their own pros and cons.

As ApparelMagic caters to fashion companies of all sizes, from small businesses to large enterprises, our support, sales, and development teams increasingly noticed the need for better support of particular picking methods when picking and packing in the system.

In our latest round of feature enhancements, we’ve taken a crucial step in that goal by adding support for batch picking.

Batch picking is an approach to picking that prioritizes picking items across multiple orders in a single “batch”, rather than performing picks for each order separately. This in turn can make more efficient use of warehouse resources and even reduce fulfillment delays. Batch picking will typically rely on some connecting factor between items, to determine the order in which items across multiple orders are pulled. One of the more common factors, and the one that our implementation of batch picking utilizes, is SKU warehouse location. When generating our new batch pick list, items across the pick tickets selected will be grouped under a single consolidated list.

Within the pick list, SKUs will be grouped by their SKU warehouse location. If there are multiple locations associated with items on the selected pick tickets, then the layout will separate items based on that location. The standard pick ticket layout can still be accessed by instead using the original Print option in the pick tickets module. This will show every highlighted pick ticket as a separate transaction in the document view.

Feature Highlight: Inventory Analysis Report

We often receive questions about ApparelMagic’s reporting capabilities, ranging from clarifications on field calculations to advice on the best report for specific data needs. Analysis reports are frequently recommended in these support interactions due to their blend of functionality, customizability, and user-friendliness. Previously, analysis reports were limited to transaction records, while non-analysis inventory reports in the Reports module were more inflexible and required an advanced layout editor for customization.

Responding to client demand, we’ve introduced an inventory analysis report in the Reports module. This report combines the familiar benefits of analysis reports, such as easy field customizations and data groupings, with a new feature: summarizing totals for each warehouse in one report. Before, to view totals for multiple warehouses, users had to run multiple “Single Warehouse” reports. The new inventory analysis report simplifies this by allowing users to view combined warehouse totals in one report, using the “Warehouse” field in the Group By options.

The report’s utility extends beyond warehouse totals. It offers creative ways to analyze inventory, using Group By fields for unique total insights based on product color, category, collection, season, and warehouse location. We’re excited to see how clients leverage this tool to gain deeper inventory insights.

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]NuORDER, the leading wholesale B2B ordering platform boasting 500 fashion brands and eighty thousand retailers, has completed its integration with ApparelMagic ERP.

ApparelMagic and NuORDER eliminate redundant data entry for its users. With a few keystrokes, users can take orders and adjust inventory in one simple process.

“ApparelMagic’s recent integration with NuORDER will allow our customers to seamlessly populate and update information in the NuORDER system,” said ApparelMagic’s John Murphy. “This will be possible without having to manually transfer information from one system to the other. New Quickbooks link simplifies accounting

From design department, to customer service, to inventory management, nothing beats the power and integration of ApparelMagic. And your accounting department will appreciate ApparelMagic ERP’s integration with 123sync for Quickbooks.

This grants ApparelMagic users the option to send data to Quickbooks for financial planning and reporting, in addition to using ApparelMagic’s powerful ERP.

Solutions that claim to be integrated often simply send a journal entry to the accounting software, using bulk journal entries for all accounts receivable instead of preserving the detail of invoices, payments and other transactions.

With ApparelMagic and 123Sync, it’s genuinely integrated, at a detailed level, and you can easily cross-reference your information.

SolutionMakers Inc. Founder and President, Laura Bowyers said it made sense to add the flexibility.

“We preconfigured the main features most ApparelMagic customers may want to have,” Bowyer said. “It really helps cut down any double entry and reorders.”

123Sync is prefigured with ApparelMagic to handle all the important details between systems such as:

Customers
Vendors
Invoices
Inventory Items (SKUs)
Credit Memos
Payments

Following the initial set-up, ApparelMagic automatically begins queuing up records and transactions in 123sync for posting to Quickbooks. 123sync’s dashboard interface displays what is ready for posting, what has been posted and any rejected items due to an exception from Quickbooks.

Easily affordable, this bridge allows growing businesses to work with fully integrated accounting of ApparelMagic and allows companies to continue with the simplicity of a Quickbooks file, whether to communicate easily with their accountants, or to have access to the best of both worlds.
